The Woodlands Course

The 18-hole Woodlands Course is a stunning contrast to its predecessor, the Links Course. Its fairways are densely tree-lined and guarded by a series of about 80 traps, making it much tighter. Considered a modern target course, it is comprised of radical elevation, and large bent grass greens that are moderately fast and well bunkered. Water comes into play on four holes. This unusual layout is carved out of longstanding forests of oak, maple, pine, elm and walnut trees. Natural wildlife such as whitetail deer, hawk, eagle and turkey are often seen meandering through the virgin timbers. This picturesque tract offers breathtaking lakeshore panorama on hole #3, a.k.a. The Cliff Hole. This truly awesome 169-yard par 3 features a radical 65-foot drop from tee to green. Hole no. 2 is a 341-yard par 4 center pieced with a 90+-year-old stone quarry that separates the fairway from green and donned with the Judson Tower, a historical landmark. Required accuracy and distance make this an unforgiving ogre that has been quoted by Golf Digest readers as “one of the toughest courses you will ever play” “second only to Blackwolf Run,” and “top five best courses ever played."

Architect

Joe Lee and his protégé Rocky Roquemore built the first nine in 1983 and completed the second nine in 1991. Roquemore's Atlanta firm was the architectural consultant for The Woodlands, his first Wisconsin-built golf course. Roquemore co-developed three courses at Disney World in Orlando, Doral's Blue Monster in Miami, Cog Hill's Dubs Dread in suburban Chicago, Pine Meadow Course in Chicago, and many other quality layouts.

Terrace Restaurant

The Terrace Restaurant of Lawsonia offers the "best of both worlds" in keeping with Lawsonia's theme of diversity -- a double play golf destination with two contrasting course layouts. Customers have a choice of relaxing outside on the terrace with colorful umbrella-covered patio settings or sitting inside the dining room vividly decorated in golf motif. Each offer scenic views of the course grounds. There are faster food choices for the golfer, and full-service meals for people leisurely entertaining clients, family, friends, and associates. Since consumers demand choices in everything from convenience and price to atmosphere and service, the newly-designed menu caters to both the public and the golfer by offering very reasonably-priced traditional favorites (listed under the Link's Course) in addition to contemporary or trendier alternatives (listed under the Woodland's Course).

We offer a variety of food service and beverage selections to accommodate any golfer, group, or corporate outing. Order your box lunches in advance and have them waiting for you in your golf cart or at the turn. Impress your fellow golfers by setting up charges for your group or corporation on the beverage cart, snack shop and the restaurant.

Book the conference room (capacity 80) for you business meeting before going out to golf and order a continental or buffet breakfast to start your day.

Organize your tournament on either course and order lunch for your group as they come in, while doing scoring and presenting awards.

Take advantage of the "GPS" menu offerings halfway through the links course or between rounds on either course.
