Calvert Crossing Golf Club

This intriguing member of the Audubon Golf Trail has a strange effect on people. One glimpse at this stunning 6,822-yard championship golf course, lush with tall pines and stately white oaks, and stress mysteriously melts away. Nestled in the charming town of Calhoun, in between Monroe and Ruston, Calvert Crossing offers a remarkable golf experience. The course features undulating greens, narrow tree-lined fairways, and water on 10 holes. Five sets of tees challenge players of all skill levels. Calvert Crossing is known as a "shot maker's golf course." The regulars suggest you select your clubs wisely. You will also enjoy a full driving range/practice area, complete with a short game facility. The Bar & Grill welcomes players with a relaxing atmosphere and menu to satisfy any appetite.

What To Do Between Swings

When you're ready to put down your clubs and pick up a fork, head for one of Monroe’s fine restaurants. An area favorite is the Waterfront Grill, whose owner was recently named Louisiana's Restaurateur of the Year. If shopping is your passion, take a stroll down West Monroe's Antique Alley, where you'll discover everything from furniture found in Old South plantations to Coca-Cola memorabilia. Monroe, after all, is the former home of the first Coca-Cola® bottler.

Ameneties

Calvert Crossing strives to not only provide excellent golf for its members and guests, but also to provide the comforts and facilities necessary for every occasion.

Pool

Our swimming pool is the perfect setting for a Louisiana summer afternoon. The fenced-in facility is conveniently located between the parking lot, 18th green, and snack bar. The pool measures 70' x 30', has a 3' shallow and an 8' deep end, and is heated so you will not hesitate before jumping in. Accompanying the pool is a rest area, gazebo, and plenty of lounge chairs. Our pool is for members and their guests. Please check-in with a Calvert Crossing employee upon arrival.

Tennis Courts

We have recently installed two tennis courts at Calvert Crossing. Calvert members have the opportunity to enjoy a game after work or on the weekends. We have tennis balls and rackets for rent in the clubhouse, and court times can be booked in the pro shop. Junior and adult tournaments will go under way in the summer of 2007. Lessons can be booked March through October. Members may schedule their own private lessons on Calvert's courts; however, Coach Lynn Mercer of Kiroli Park is available for instruction for non-members.

Grill & Bar

Our restaurant is open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday, and breakfast on weekends. The menu features classic diner items such as hamburgers, chicken baskets, and delicious shrimp po boys. Our appetizers and desserts, such as fried cheese-cake, have become quite a hit. Golfers have the option of sitting down to a full-course meal or getting a quick sandwich to go. The members at Calvert Crossing find that the bar is the perfect place to cool down after a round of golf. Whether you are looking for an adult beverage or a fruit smoothie, our friendly wait staff is here to serve you.
